The Stratford District Partnership (the Local Strategic Partnership for Stratford-on-Avon) is comprised of representatives of local government, the police, health, education bodies, businesses, voluntary and community organisations.
Set up in 2000, the Partnership provides an opportunity for groups and organisations to work together to co-ordinate actions to improve local quality of life. Its key role is to set out a shared long term vision for the District upto 2026 that has regard to local economic, social and environmental objectives. This is achieved through the Sustainable Community Strategy.
The Partnership also contributes to the delivery of the Warwickshire Local Area Agreement. It uses that agreement as a framework for agreeing priorities for improvement, setting joint targets and clarifying the responsibilities for delivery.
The Partnership comprises of five themes which are:
All members of the Stratford District Partnership endorse the objectives of the Sustainable Community Strategy and are committed to its successful implementation.
Membership
The Chair and Vice-Chair of the Core Group are indepedent members who are elected on an annual basis. The current Chair is Charles Goody and the Vice Chair is Alan Bartlett. Other members of the Core Group comprise of representatives from Stratford-on-Avon District Council, Warwickshire County Council, the Learning and Skills Council, NHS Warwickshire, the Police, Voluntary Action Stratford-on-Avon District and the Warwickshire Association of Local Councils. In addition there are representatives from each of the six theme groups, to ensure clear communication between the strategic and delivery arms of the Partnership, and from each of the six Community Forums, to ensure that local views from all parts of the District can be aired.
